I was completely locked out of XP because by hitting the keyboard with my elbow, as I was logging into Windows I managed to delete all of my user accounts, while logged in as the administrator, shutting down my computer in the process. After doing so I was horrified to find I had to reinstall all the Service Packs, reinstall Internet Explorer, and all of my password-protected files, music, photos were gone.
I did find my user folder however, and discovered my files were still there only by doing a virus scan, thank the Lord! But received the error message, "Access is denied. Boot into Safe Mode, logon as the Administrator. Right -click folder you are trying to access and select "Security". Edit the user permissions to your preference, click the "Advanced" button. A dialog box should pop up telling you that you don't have rights, permissions, etc.
