Joined Oct 2, Messages I have the same exact problem as yours. The Event Viewer displays an Atapi error 11 along with continuous freezing which gets really annoying. However, in my case, the problem disappears in safe mode or if I load a linux distribution, which makes me think that the problem may consist in a compatibility issue between a Windows driver, which is loaded by default, and the disk itself.

Changing between startup items and services to see if there was any problematic service or startup program didn't work, so I presume there must be a driver, which isn't loaded in safe mode, that causes the atapi errors. The driver I'm using is the best one. I did this and it made no difference. I updated the driver and it had the most current one. I'm all most to the point of disconnecting the monitor and letting it reinstall. I don't get what you are sending? I googled for the same and applied all tips and tricks and it took me around 5 days to come to a solution. Success : I installed "Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver" and after that i didnt get any such error and sytem performance increased to a gtreat level.

Note : Though the above two steps didn't solve my problems but you can go for these steps as this will increase performance of you system, Also Hard Disk diagnose may take one full night so be patient.
