The Maun area alone supports an estimated 25, donkeys and 40, domestic dogs. These animals represent a significant animal welfare issue in a country where animal cruelty laws have not been updated since and where more than a quarter of the human population still live below the poverty line.

The large number of domestic dogs also represent a disease risk to both humans and wildlife, in particular with respect to rabies and canine distemper which have decimated wild dog populations in other parts of Africa in the past.

Northern Botswana is considered by many to be the premier safari destination. Wildlife sightings are astounding, camps are set in magical locations, service is supreme and the standard of guiding is very high.

Due to the remote and wild nature of the camps you will have short flights between locations, an incredibly scenic way to change camps as you take in the scenery and can often spot wildlife below.

The ability to go off-road creates opportunities for incredibly close viewing of predators on this itinerary. Ultimate Predators of Botswana.
